Google Navigation now routes around traffic automatically

I’m a big fan of Google Navigation, which is a big part of my “Droid X and Ford SYNC are awesome” post. Now, the Navigation app has gotten even better and it doesn’t even require an update!

Google has just announced that the app will now start taking current road conditions, along with historical traffic patterns for the roads on your route, and adjust accordingly.  I’ve always been shocked at how accurate the time predictions have been with Google Navigation (since it takes traffic into account), but now it’ll actually do everything possible to help you avoid traffic slowdowns in the first place!

Drivers use Google Navigation for more than 35 million miles every day, so this will be of great value to a lot of users.

Do you have an Android phone with Google Navigation?  Do you use it very often?
