Many businesses aren’t aware of the importance of refreshing a website once every three to five years. With the Internet continually changing and user demands and expectations shifting with it, an updated website design is needed to stay current and competitive online. Hunter Hotel Conference, a hotel real estate and finance conference designed for hotel owners and investors, knew it was time for refresh to match today’s standards.
Our relationship with Hunter Hotel Conference goes back several years. We built their previous site in 2013 and, four years later, we agreed it was time to rethink the design, technical build, and content strategy. The previous site was created using a WordPress template, and didn’t include the functionality needed to easily maintain more complex content layouts needed on the site. In addition, the conference design had matured over the years, and the website began to look dated. It was at this point we agreed it would be best to rethink and rebuild.
Our solution for Hunter Hotel Conference was to get them off a WordPress template and create a custom-built website that met their needs, matched their branding, and provided a seamless user experience for their conference attendees, sponsors, and exhibitors. We built custom functionality for their unique content areas such as the sponsor listings, developed a plan to flip the website easily from pre- to post-conference content, and gave the Hunter Conference team the tools they needed to maintain and update all their content in-house, decreasing their overhead and maintenance costs.
- Shining accomplishments
By incorporating bold colors and imagery from previous conferences, we were able to create a new, impactful website that matches their updated branding and collateral. The new site offers a much-improved user experience for not just people looking at the website’s front end, but for the Hunter Team as the work behind the scenes on content updates.
