The 6 Best Holiday Gift Ideas for the Marketer in Your Life

marketing gift

The holidays are quickly approaching. With the holiday season comes holiday gift shopping. And with gift shopping comes the inevitable debate around gift ideas. What should I get for this person?

For those of you with marketing people in your life, we’ve got a list of gift suggestions. That could be for your friend, co-worker, boss, spouse, or maybe even yourself. There’s no end of amazing marketing people out there who need more encouragement.

1. Notebooks

Even the most techno-savvy marketing professionals still rely on good old fashioned pen and paper. I personally always need a handy notebook to jot down notes or ideas on.

Moleskine has become a go-to for fancy notebooks because of their high-quality and usability. Bullet Journal is another line of notebooks known for their mindfulness and productivity.

Speaking of productivity, Michael Hyatt’s Full Focus Planner is an entire system built in a notebook that helps people set goals and stay on task.

If your marketing pal prefers their notebook to be digitally-connected, why not check out Rocketbook? This line of smart notebooks allows you to upload and archive content to the cloud.

2. Marketing books

Marketing is constantly changing, which means marketers need to be constant learners to keep up. One of the best ways to do that? Keep reading the latest marketing books to learn more.

There are a nearly limitless number of marketing books out there, but here are some of our favorites at GreenMellen:

3. Gift cards

What’s the best gift of all? The freedom to select your own gift. Which makes gift cards twice as nice. Or at least, that’s what I tell myself when I give one to someone else.

You could get your favorite marketer a few cups of coffee with a Starbucks gift card. Or maybe a shiny new tech gadget from Apple? Or perhaps let them pick out their own marketing book from our good friends at Amazon?

4. Continuing education

Marketers are smart people (you know it’s true). They’re smart because they like to keep learning. This year, give someone the gift of knowledge by supporting their continuing education.

Normally, I’d say you could buy them tickets to an in-person conference like the Digital Summit series or the INBOUND marketing conference. Of course, those events have transitioned mostly to online conferences for the foreseeable future.

You could also opt for online marketing classes. That might mean selecting a specific course from Coursera or Udemy. It could also mean purchasing a pass for a platform like MasterClass or Lynda.

5. A fancy new gadget

Tech gadgets are never a bad idea. You know you’re living in the future when we’ve got such easy access to things like wireless phone chargers and a sticker that helps keep track of your stuff.

Since most of us are still working from home, there’s always the smart speakers like Amazon’s Echo Dot or a Google Home mini. At least that gives them someone to talk to at work.

You could even keep your marketing friends safe by getting them a PhoneSoap UV light sanitizer that helps to rid their devices of germs and bacteria. Or possibly an Ember smart mug that keeps their favorite beverage at the perfect drinking temperature.

6. Marketing help

Physical gifts are nice, but you know what your marketing friend really wants? If they’re like most marketing professionals, they want some help and support with what they’re doing.

They’ve no doubt got no shortage of responsibilities, but a real limitation on their capacity. No one can get it all done by themselves. And if they’re a one-person team or juggle multiple responsibilities, then they’re likely in need of reinforcements.

That’s what GreenMellen is built for—supporting and supplementing the great marketing work of outstanding organizations. So maybe the best gift you can give to your favorite marketer is to reach out to us and let us help them.

No matter what you get for your marketing friends, we wish you a happy holiday season from GreenMellen!
