Last fall, GreenMellen was approached by a local home builder that needed some assistance with their SEO. They were able to generate solid leads through their site, but it was almost exclusively via pay-per-click and other advertising. In an effort to generate more traffic from organic web searches, GreenMellen used a variety of strategies:
- Performed a full keyword audit and competitor analysis to determine what keywords we should focus on first.
- Rebuilt their site on the WordPress platform, allowing us to add the fresh keyword-focused content on the site. There are a lot of small things you can do with WordPress to fine-tune SEO on a site, and we utilized every available tool.
- Pulled their external news/blog onto the main site, to help focus their domain authority and overall stance in the eyes of Google.
The results have been phenomenal. The new site launched near the end of September, 2014, and organic SEO growth has been remarkable since then. In the three months prior to launch they were averaging 548 visits per month from Google. In the four full months since launch, that number has shot up to 3354 visitors per month — an increase of over 600%!
In addition, thanks to the new website and the research that went into it, users are staying on the site 14% longer than before and viewing 23% more pages on each session.
