How to Use Digital Marketing to Expand Brand Awareness

Death_to_stock_communicate_hands_11

Digital marketing has quickly become priority over traditional mediums such as display or out-of-home advertising, and for good reason. It’s measurable, meets people where they are today (online), and very scalable. While it’s become stronger and more developed over time, it’s still up to you to make sure you’re using it effectively to increase brand awareness, which will, in turn, convert leads into customers and grow your business.

Here are five powerful ways to use digital marketing to boost your brand awareness and presence.

Engage with Your Audience Through Social

Social media is a great place to showcase your brand personality and engage with your audience. While it might make sense to be on every social platform, you should only spend time where your audience is. For example, if you’re a B2C business geared toward millennials, you would probably want to engage with them through Instagram more than LinkedIn.

Once you decide which platforms make the most sense for your business, carefully craft your strategy. Define your social media goals and tailor your posts to meet those goals while promoting engagement with your followers.

Create an Email Marketing Strategy that Converts

Emails still produce the highest ROI out of any other medium, and it’s still worth investing your time into. Consider creating campaigns that not only encourage engagement, but get your leads down the sales funnel. Shopping cart abandonment series, drip campaigns and incentivized emails are not only a great way to boost your brand awareness, but they entice people to go back to your website to take the next step.

Take Advantage of Organic SEO

People search for something on Google over 63,000 times per second, and if organic SEO isn’t a part of your strategy, you should reconsider. Start by searching for the best keywords and terms to target on your website. There are plenty of free and paid tools out there you can use (we use Moz), and optimizing your content with the right keywords will increase your digital presence on search engines like Google.

Become the Industry Expert Through Blogging

Blogs are a great way to not only help your brand awareness and organic SEO (if you use the right keywords), but also give you authority as an industry expert. Aim to write blog posts about common questions your audience is asking or pieces that are both informational and interesting. Share these pieces on your social media accounts, tie them to your email newsletter, or repurpose them later as another type of content.

The best way to expand your brand’s exposure is by putting a full-fledged digital marketing plan in place that includes more than one of these options above. If you aren’t sure where to start, contact the GreenMellen team, and let’s see what course of action is best for your business!
