GreenMellen Speaks at WordCamp Atlanta 2017

wcatl_featued

This past St. Patrick’s Day weekend, you may have seen GreenMellen at WordCamp Atlanta 2017 leading sessions in front of hundreds of local WordPress and business professionals. In case you missed WordCamp this year, here are the highlights from both sessions lead by our team members!

Responsive Web Design Workshop

On the second day of WordCamp, Ali Green and Ashlea Lanier filled the Loudermilk Center’s ballroom with eager learners who wanted to learn more about responsive web design. With most people viewing websites and content on their mobile devices, this was a hot topic for many attendees.

This workshop walked through our process of wireframing, and they explained how to optimize website elements for an audience. What was so unique about this workshop from other WordCamp sessions was the hands-on exercises Ali and Ashlea had the attendees do. These exercises helped attendees understand how each responsive viewpoint can be altered to fit the consumption needs of their users.

There was no doubt that everyone who attended this workshop left with some great insight into how to make their website’s responsive experience better than ever!

SEO in 2017

In the same ballroom as Ali and Ashlea’s presentation, Mickey Mellen and Jenny Munn of The Munn Group held their session about SEO the following day.

Mickey and Jenny talked about what’s new with Google and what basic changes people can make to improve their site’s visibility and conversions. They also shared the top 10 mistakes they see in SEO, which really opened attendee’s eyes to the amount of work and dedication it takes for strong SEO. After their presentation, they were grilled with questions regarding organic SEO and other points covered in their talk.

It’s safe to say that GreenMellen left a lasting impression on WordCamp Atlanta 2017! Thank you to all of the WCATL organizers, volunteers and speakers. We all learned a lot from this year’s WordCamp and are already looking forward to WordCamp Atlanta 2018!

Below are the slides from both presentations. We will add the recorded video to this post once they are live on WordPress.tv.
